About

I’ve lived in Venice since 2013. I came as a tourist, then a student, then an Expat, & now I consider myself a local! I always find someone on the street that I know & have been known to give the best tours to family & friends that visit me!

I want to share with you the reasons why I fell in love with Venice & make sure you do not leave Venice without falling in love with her also!

My favorite things in Venice are living on an Island & having Island hopping as a normal daily activity (how cool is that?), the breathtaking views around every corner (OMG the sunsets!), driving my pink boat past the gondoliers on the canals (if you get lost they know every canal), walking literally everywhere, the Bacaros (Venetian bars) & the close-knit communities, the beach & bike riding in Lido, the Eastern-influenced Architecture, the history & the fables of how Venice came to be, my mother-in-laws cooking, my cats, & last but not least my Fiancé!!  (he is the one that introduced me to how beautiful Venice is)

I was born in the United States & came to Venice to study Architecture, originally. What a better place to study Architecture & fall in love?! I absolutely loved studying Architecture in Venice & got swept away with her beauty & the tales of Casanova escaping from prison, Veronica Franco the wisest Cortizon & the adventures of Marco Polo... oh the stories could on!

I decided to move to Venice after I graduated. I got my dual citizenship through Jure Sanguinis (Italian born grandmother) & am proud to say I am a dual citizen! I learned all of my Italian while living in Venice & have picked up on the Venetian dialect! Looking forward to sharing my Venice with you!

Fun Fact

I have never lived in the same home/city for more than 2 years until I moved to Venice! Venice has the best of everything, beach, city, art, history, boating, nature & all kinds of outdoor activities, food, aperitif, & the mountains are less than 2 hours away for snowboarding/hiking. SO GRATEFUL!

Favorite Food

It is difficult for me to claim only one… all things salty & even more a salty-sweet combo! Ask me for my favorite sweet-salty gelato spots!

Favorite Venetian food is anything fish, with a huge love for Scampi in Saor, shrimp marinated in an onion/vinegar sauce, pine nuts & raisins! It may sound weird but, I didn’t even like onions before trying this!! Of course, Crostini, a Venetian Cicchetti on bread, toppings can vary veg/meat/fish! You CANNOT go to Venice without trying a Crostino!

My favorite food, in general, has got to be, Zucca (Italian squash), Sweet Potatoes or Nachos…. I did miss a good ultimate nachos from the USA, but I have found a few places to please my taste buds!

Hidden Gem

The canals of Venice! Anyone can walk the streets (calle) of Venice, but real Venetian life is on a boat & admiring the City from the water!

There is also a lot of nature to be found! I know most people come to Venice & think of the main island as a historic/metropolitan city on water, but if you look hard enough or hop to different islands there is so much nature & wildlife to be found!
